Does true randomness exist?

The notion of randomness does stem from the lack of information, at a particular point in time, but it also has a lot to do with the uncertainty principle. It’s strange how the Heisenberg uncertainty principle, a principle in quantum mechanics, finds its way in almost everything.

The uncertainty principle simply states that the greater the accuracy of measurement for one observable quantity is the less accuracy of measurement for another conjugate quantity will be; in physics terms, if you know the position of an object you cannot know its velocity.

It’s not much about a lack of information or a matter of improper measurements, but the result of combining two different things that coexist. It’s like trying to look at both sides of a coin at the same time. The nature of the universe functions within a specific set of rules or orders. Yet when it comes to understanding or even predicting the next step, the concept of randomness rears its head to remind us of our lack of ability to comprehend the functions of our universe. Everything is random.

Even in the most simple system of two possibilities like flipping a coin, there is true randomness.

In more complex systems there is more randomness but not more truth. All randomness is equally true.
